Static Verses Dynamic

Learning is an ongoing process and it is enhanced by the rapidly advancing technology. Learners must keep abreast of these technologies and make a change when needed. By doing this they will continue to grow and increase their knowledge. The tools that are being used in these classrooms have either a static or dynamic approach. Both of these approaches have the power to improve the teaching and learning environments through careful selection of which tools are being used and how they are being used. Also, I agree with Moller (2008) that is is highly important foruse to take a risks, experiment, and never stop questioning when we do not know or understand.

I would have to say that I stay in the middle of the continum, because I find myself see-sawing back and forth fromthe static to the dynamic. I know that there are others as well that like using tools of the dynamic approach, but still need tools from the static approach. Tools from both of these approaches are still widely needed and used today.

  1. Great post!!! and excellent diagram. It is like if everything is together and at the same time each element has it space. I agree with you about the constant questioning. I also position myself in the middle of the continuum. Moving like you, from one side to the other. I think both, static and dynamic, have a purpose and in education we need to be aware when it is the precise context or the environment to use one or the other.

  2. Very nice graphic organizer. I also agree that we have to make sure to be familiar with both the static and dynamic.

  3. It is great that you use both static and dynamic technologies!! This is an indication that you are reaching all of your learners consistently. Depending on the lesson and students, it varies as to which type of technology is more beneficial. They are bot effective.
